Nike Air Max 90 'Vinyl' - The Drop Date

Nike Pays Respect to the DJ with the Nike Air Max 90 PRM Vinyl

Nike is continuing with the music theme for this NIKE AIR MAX 90 PRM VINYL, following the two recent ‘Mixtape’ editions of the shoe that’s been an omnipresent fixture within multiple music scenes over the decades.

It should be programmed into everyone by now, but in case you’re trying to keep up, the Air Max 90 is yet another icon from the masterful Tinker Hatfield. With its bulked-up and bold shape, the 90 took the foundations of the Air Max 1 and built upon them, adding a long panel above the midsole, commonly referred to as the mudguard. The shoe released during an exciting time in regards to what was happening in the world of music – and subsequently many iconic and important images from that era feature people wearing the Air Max 90. This latest edition pays tribute to this era, specifically DJ culture and the use of turntables and vinyl records (not ‘vinyls’, as we’ve noticed people saying in recent years!). Constructed in a combination of mesh, suede and texturized TPU overlays, the black sections are contrasted by red detailing on the eyestays and heel counter. Ice blue on the outsole provides a clean base for everything, with additional design elements such as the turntable-inspired icon on the tongue rounding things off in appropriate fashion.
