Black and red is an age-old combination, known in the sneaker world as a shortening ‘Bred’ of the classic Black and University Red colourway, most commonly seen across the AIR JORDAN IV and AIR JORDAN IV. The latest use of this powerful combo appears on the Air Max 95 Essential, which features a heavier use of mesh than usual, highlighted in both black red. The lower portions and toecap take on the dark black shade, with the swoosh and tongue branding making a contrast in white, alongside what looks like a reflective panel in the lacebed. The (unofficial) “Bred” look is rounded off with a white midsole and icy outer, creating a balanced contrast.
