The NIKE AIR MAX 97 WHITE GUM brings the classic running design back to the forefront with an appealing summer-ready colour scheme.

The Nike Air Max 97 definitely turned a few heads when it first debuted over two decades ago. Christian Tresser’s futuristic creation was long-thought to have been inspired by Japan’s high-speed Bullet trains, but we’ve since learned that the inspiration came from studying the lines and angles on mountain bike frames. The resulting design was a smart and unique combination of contours and curves that gave the shoe a true feeling of movement. Whilst the 97 is largely known for its initial silver edition, it’s proven to be a versatile canvas and as a result, we’ve seen many colourways over the years since its release. This latest edition combines mesh and leather uppers with matching tonal branding and 3M reflective detailing. The always-popular gum rubber outsole completes the design in true style.
