Fusing the Scottie Pippen favoured Air More Uptempo with this year’s new icon, the Air Max 720; Nike creates a new hybrid that elevates classic styling with a new breath of air. A groundbreaking basketball shoe that first graced shelves in ’96, the Uptempo was inspired by oversized objects from ’90s graffiti and art, which is reimagined across this reinvented mash up. As you can see, the “AIR” lettering that usually extends across the original Uptempo upper has been adapted to read “MAX AIR”, with the 720’s pioneering Air unit adding a contemporary twist to an instantly recognisable slice of ’90s footwear design.
