The Nike Dunk Low SB Elite ‘Pink Box’ Will Banish Your Winter Blues

The NIKE DUNK LOW SB ELITE ‘PINK BOX’ continues Nike Skateboarding’s series of Dunk colourways inspired by old school SB shoeboxes, this time dropping a silhouette that takes its cues from a mid-noughties classic.

The 2005 pink Nike SB shoebox is considered one of Nike’s most stylish and recognizable. Accordingly, the 2016 ‘Pink Box’ has a 3M reflective upper clad in pink, with white accents on the laces, inner liner and the full-length foam Nike Zoom Air midsole unit, while the patent leather Swoosh and outsoles are black. In a finishing touch, a shoe box logo debossed into the heel and the signature illustration on the sockliner that shows the SB shoeboxes from over the years. And, naturally, the ‘Pink Box’ comes packed in a limited-edition retro Nike SB box that is, you guessed it, pink. As The Drop Date has written on before, the Dunk became a skateboarding favourite after the folks in Beaverton fattened the tongue, the collar and Zoom Air insoles, transforming a basketball silhouette into a skate shoe. The SB Dunk made its debut in 2002 – the first offering from the vaunted SB line – and the first one to catch the eye of the skate crowd. 2016’s pink iteration is also bound to catch a lot of eyes. Rocking pink in winter? You know you could pull it off.
