Released as a more accessible follow up to the React Element 87, the 55 has managed to garner just as much attention as its predecessor, swapping out translucent uppers for a solid matte finish. This time around, size? sink their claws into the model for an exclusive colourway inspired by the neutral tones seen across the Escape Pack from 1988, working a durable nylon ripstop in a black and white grid design, and overlaid with brown synthetic leather and suede to the eyestay and heel. Red accents arrive on Nike’s Spiral Swoosh and React branding to the tongue, as well as a pull-loop to the heel and reflective 3M taping along the seams.
