Reaction Attraction: the Nike Presto React Updates the Classic Air Presto for 2019

The brand-new NIKE PRESTO REACT applies Nike’s cutting-edge React technology to the classic styling of the Air Presto. And what better way to show the evolution of the concept than to continue the marketing campaign from the original Presto launch back in 2000?

The Presto React holds true to the original Presto in many ways: the supple, stretchy sock-like construction of the original shoe is here, along with a similar plastic exoskeleton which adds support and allows the lacing system to offer the wearer a secure fit. The React foam features prominently underneath, with geometric design elements and contours that give the shoe an aerodynamic appearance. Back in 2000, each original Presto colourway was launched alongside intriguing cartoon characters who provided a backstory to the colour scheme. This time around, we see ‘Brutal Honey’ and ‘Rabid Panda’ dropping first, accompanied by ‘Rogue Kielbasa’, the ‘Shady Milkman’ and the ‘Unholy Cumulus’ who are up for a bit of customisation on the Nike by You site. ‘Psychedelic Lava’, ‘Chatty Matador’, ‘Breezy Thursday’ and ‘Witness Protection’ follow a week later, meaning that there’s something for everyone here.
