Bruce Kilgore’s simple-but-effective Air Force 1 design has stood the test of time well, to say the very least. It changed the people looked at basketball footwear, quickly establishing itself as a street-ready favourite due to its tough appearance and bold shape. Over the years, not that much has changed from the basic 1982 design – that is until this edition! The lowered swoosh and off-centre branding actually sit well on the chunky shape that the AF1 is loved for. The leather upper looks as crisp as ever in a tonal choice of Triple Black or Triple White, or if you like a little more colour in the mix, White bases with a Game Royal or Black Swoosh adding some strong, vivid contrast. The tongue labels and heel panels are repositioned accordingly, giving the overall impression that the shoe has either outgrown its boundaries – or has simply melted in its own heat.
