95 Meets 97 in the Nike WMNS Air Max 97 Neon

The NIKE WMNS AIR MAX 97 NEON continues the run of Air Max 97 retros, this time in a colourway that’s best known from its predecessor, the Air Max 95.

There’s no denying that the Nike Air Max 97 changed the way we looked at the Air Max series when it first dropped 20 years ago. Christian Tresser’s futuristic design has been widely communicated as being inspired by Japan’s high-speed Bullet trains, but subsequent research has revealed that perhaps the original inspiration came from mountain bike frames. Whatever it was that sparked the idea, it worked wonders: with contours and curves that gave the shoe a true feeling of speed and momentum, the Air Max 97 looks great in any colourway. This edition in Dark Grey, Volt, Stealth and Pure Platinum follows up the darker version that we previewed here already.
