Doing Real Things: the Nike BSMNT Air Max 90 Pack Releases Throughout October

Founded back in December 2013, The Basement is an online collective that unites a cross-section of London’s young creative community, comprised of people from a wide range of different backgrounds. In addition to organising meet-ups via social media, their website acts as an archive of projects and creative experiments, aiming to inspire like-minded young people.

The latest collaboration boasts three editions of Air Max 90 based on three major UK cities: London, Manchester and Glasgow. Working down the country, the Glasgow edition celebrates Scotland’s continuously evolving city with a water-resistant construction featuring deep grey materials and heavyweight ripstop. A safety orange tongue, retro-reflective Swoosh and heel tab are inspired by the iconic traffic cone placed upon the head of the Duke Of Wellington statue in Glasgow’s city centre. Manchester is represented with a water-resistant Cordura build and a jewel Swoosh, which is the first of its kind to appear on an Air Max 90. It also houses a black 3M quarter panel to increase visibility whilst also maintaining the shoe’s stealthy edge. Finally, The Basement’s home of London is celebrated in five shades of grey to reflect both the human and architectural diversity of the capital. Its transparent velcro-edged Swoosh can be switched in a choice of Yellow 3M, Dark Gray Corduroy, White Patent or Pearlescent removable options.
