Nike x CLOT Cortez Coming in 2023
The NIKE X CLOT CORTEZ sees Chinese footwear giants CLOT return to the Swoosh to put their own spin on a longstanding classic. Forrest Gump’s running shoe of choice, the Cortez was originally released in 1972, making it one of Nike’s certified OGs. CLOT is supposedly unleashing three split-colour constructions sometime in 2023 with co-founder Edison Chen giving a tease of the black-and-white option, shown below. The black protective sleeve is removed to reveal a light slip-on kung fu style shoe featuring the CLOT logo and Chinese calligraphy translated as “kung fu” embroidered on the heels. A yin yang toggle also appears on the heels, completing what seems like quite an interesting collab.
Update 27/02/23: A black and yellow colourway has been teased online, hopefully landing sometime in spring 2023.
Update 17/03/23: An OG ‘Forrest Gump’ colourway also joins the pack, also expected to release sometime in spring 2023.
