The Nike x Olivia Kim Collection Teleports Back to ’90s New York

A native New Yorker, Olivia Kim came of age in the ‘90s, which she brings to the forefront of her collaborative footwear and apparel capsule with Nike. The rave-fuelled decade was also a pivotal one for the swoosh, with milestone moments including opening their Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton and the first Niketown store. The fun and playful side of growing up in Downtown Manhattan in the ‘90s is expressed across five female-specific fits utilising models that were popular during the decade: the NIKE AIR FORCE 1, AIR JORDAN IV, AIR MOWABB, AIR FOOTSCAPE and the AIR MAX 98. The AF1 is dressed in heavy corduroy and the Air Jordan IV in pony hair, adding two luxe twists to the basketball icons. The Mowabb stays close to its ACG stylings with deep brown and black colouring, whilst the Footscape stays bold with zebra-striped uppers. Finally, the Air Max 98 dons a dancehall-inspired gradient, paying homage to the city’s Rastafarian community. Apparel is reminiscent of Kim’s teenage wardrobe with tennis dresses, hoods and graphic appearing in a vibrant pink, volt, blue, orange and red palette.
