The NIKE X SNEAKERSNSTUFF ZOOM TALARIA 2014 – FEARLESS LIVING release brings one of our favourite shoes back into the limelight, courtesy of the good people at SNS. And we’re very excited about it.
The Nike Talaria has always felt like one of the underdogs: it’s a understated design, cut a little higher than most others, with minimal branding and that lovely contoured midsole that gives a rugged ACG look without looking clumpy. Since the original 1998 shoe, we’ve seen hints and teasers that the Talaria may return in its original form (does anyone recall the fluorescent samples that were floating around in 2005?), but the closest we’ve got is the Nike x Os Gemeos brown and red boot that dropped as a Tier Zero release in 2007 and a few earth-toned drops here and there in the mid 2000s. And, of course there’s the limited-to-24-pairs Nort hyperstrike edition (a true hyperstrike, designed by Stash, for the opening of his Berlin Nort store) that rears its head on occasion.
Enough history: this is about today’s release – and what a release it is! SNS have pulled out all the stops on this special 2014 release: as part of the FEARLESS LIVING package, there’s a ‘Versatile Protection’ kit and a collectors’ bag all contained in a functional dual-purpose sneaker box. The Protection kit includes a soft hair brush, water based shoe cleaner and a mountain print cloth. The shoe itself is rendered in a beautiful bamboo colourway, with cobalt blue and soft grey accents: perfect for the dark days of winter. The 2014 edition of the Talaria is almost the same as the original ’98 shoe, with a few new updates that are functional and yet still look good.
Produced in a limited run of 150 pairs, the NIKE X SNEAKERSNSTUFF ZOOM TALARIA 2014 – FEARLESS LIVING package is available now. Hit the banner below for the release page.
