PONY are not (yet) a brand that fill up blog posts and provoke Friday night campouts, but over the past year they have put together some impressive projects with FootPatrol and Colette amongst others. They’re kicking off 2014 with a Manhattan-centric three-way collaboration with the PONY X ROTHCO CAPSULE COLLECTION, which features design input from Jeff Staple.

Channelling their classic American roots, PONY (an acronym for Products of New York) have hooked up with Rothco, a family-owned military surplus retailer that grew out of New York’s East Village in the 50s. Together with Jeff Staple, another NY native, they’ve married their sportswear and militaristic backgrounds to produce a jacket, a backpack and a pair of boots. The mid-cut black wool and leather upper is accented with scarlet on the heel and the Rothco-branded tongue label, with woodland camouflage patterning on the lining and tongue. Take your pick from black waxed laces or camo flats.

The PONY X ROTHCO CAPSULE COLLECTION has just dropped In-store with OVERKILL in Berlin then drops at REED SPACE in NYC on 23.1.14, and we’ll bring you the confirmed info on UK stockists as soon as we have it.
