PUMA R698 Soft Pack – Available Now

The PUMA R698 SOFT PACK sees the model stripped back to its bare essentials and presented in a quartet of colourways.

Stripping away the lining and building the upper in monotone suede results in the iconic runner being given a lightweight and premium upgrade. To give the shoe an even more minimal look, a couple of panels have been removed, with either stitched outlines or perforations working to create the silhouette we’re used to. Perforations across the toe box and tongue not only give the minimal upper a touch more breathability, but also add nicely to the premium feel. There’s a choice of four colours for the upper – pale pink, grey, petrol blue and black -, all of which sit on a clean white midsole and outsole combination. The R698 has been through a lot of iterations during its history, but this stripped-back version has to be one of the classiest looks we’ve seen so far.
