The PUMA RS-COMPUTER SHOE reflects a bygone vision of the future…

PUMA was ahead of the curve when it came to technologically minded footwear in the ‘80s, applying electronic software to their aptly named “RS-Computer Shoe.” Released in 1986, the model featured an RS (Running System) equipped chip inside a computer unit to the back heel which provided data to compare past runs with future goals, ultimately helping to track and improve your run.

For its 2018 upgrade, new technology streamlines the experience, with a USB connector eliminating the need to connect to a desktop computer with a cable as done in ‘86. Bluetooth technology also allows wearers to connect to iOS or Android through the RS-Computer Shoe app to manage their running data. As for the actual shoe, it keeps the original Lunar Rock, Limestone and Peacoat colourway across a textile and leather upper, complete with padded collar, Multiplex Four midsole technology and a TPU heel housing the computer chip.

To mark its original year of release, there will be a limited 86 numbered pairs available, so if you’re after one to add to the collection then don’t hang about…
