If you’re looking for something with a bit of style in the running shoe department, then this new retro of the PUMA TRINOMIC XR1 OG will definitely get the blood pumping. Originally released in 1990, the XR1 was introduced as a top-level lightweight runner, perfect for track performance.
Following on from the late ’80s passion for neon detailing, the XR1 soon found a place on the street, where it was adopted by a number of different scenes (unsurprisingly, it featured heavily in the dance and club scene of the early ’90s). PUMA paired its Trinomic technology with a functional mesh and synthetic upper to great effect. Featuring a translucent form stripe and decorative paint splatter graphic effect on the upper, it’s something a little different from one of our favourite heritage brands.
As a part of PUMA’s CREAM project, the PUMA TRINOMIC XR1 OG fits the 1:1 reissue mold perfectly. Scheduled to release in the UK & Europe shortly, we’ll have the RELEASE PAGE containing the comprehensive lists of stockists up ahead of the launch, so make sure you’re following @thedropdate on all things social, to be kept up-to-date with the drop!
