When PUMA get it right, they get it very right, and the reissue of the TRINOMIC XT2 PLUS is a case in point. A shoe that fits right in with the current trend of vintage runners, the XT2 debuted back in the early ’90s as part of the Trinomic range, and is set to become the next big player to be unleashed from the brands’ archive vaults.
Set to drop in limited numbers on Wednesday 25.9.13, this reissue of the original XT2+ is aesthetically simple in its shape and sports everyones favourite suede and mesh upper combo, yet under the exterior we have a shoe that was way ahead of its time when the original first released – a time when technology was at the forefront of ever brands arsenal of innovative product lines.
Not much has changed in the past couple of decades, with brands striving to come up with the next big thing in running tech, some of it great, and some of it just plain stupid, but relate this back to the late ’80s / early ’90s and everything – although produced for function above fashion – was pretty much wearable in everyday life, and none more so than the Trinomic range of running shoes.
The tech in question on this TX2+ is Trenomic. A hexagonal, honeycomb-like impact system in the sole, specifically designed to rebound the load from the foot as it pressures the unit. The honeycomb cells are visible through the clear areas of the outsole and provide a level of comfort that could give most of todays techs a solid run for their money.

Oh, and it also marks the return of the infamous green box!… and that, makes us very happy indeed. Nice one PUMA, more of the same please!
