PUMA x ICNY AW15 Collection – Release Info

The PUMA X ICNY AW15 COLLECTION sees a mix of the much-loved brand’s shoes and apparel given a fresh reflective treatment.

ICNY was developed after designer Mike Cherman was hit by a car whilst cycling. Taking inspiration from his accident, he created the brand, with a goal of providing increased visibility, and in turn safety, by using reflective materials on key areas of sporting apparel and accessories. Since the brand’s inception in 2012, ICNY continues to develop products in such a way that not only are they practical for cycling in the city, but are also visually appealing for a wider audience. Utilising this reflective technology, the two brands have come together to give the R698 a futuristic makeover. The updates come in two different styles, the first of which adds reflective piping to each of the panels, which come in a trio of monotone colourways – Fluro Yellow, Fire Red and Black. As if these weren’t bold enough, the R698 X3M sports an all-over reflective silver finish on the upper, which is offset by hits of black on the lining, laces and tongue label.

Alongside the footwear, there will be a selection of apparel that include the Performance Jacket, Performance Pant and the Logo Sweat. Of the three items, the Performance Jacket is the key piece from the collection, as it perfectly encapsulates the collaboration’s careful balance of combining sporting classics and cutting edge technology. Each of the pieces features reflective detailing throughout, which not only looks cool, but should keep cyclists, and even pedestrians, safe whilst they travel at night. We can’t deny that we appreciate a touch of reflective detailing, so this is a great collaboration in our books.
