A Closer Look at the New PUMA X Rhude Collection

The PUMA x RHUDE collection takes the style and performance foundations set by PUMA and adds an innovative and creative element by employing classic suiting techniques, patterns and iconography.

Following the unveiling at Paris Men’s Fashion Week, LA’s Rhude joins forces with PUMA on a new collaboration for Fall/Winter 2019, featuring iconic footwear designs from the PUMA archives and a selection of progressive, contemporary garments with a timeless appeal. First up for the footwear, the PUMA Cell Alien has been updated with a new mesh foundation and synthetic leather overlays, finished off with eye-catching green details. The PUMA Palace Guide combines suede, leather and nylon, with clean stitching and perforations giving a distressed, nomadic appearance to a slick silhouette. A firm favourite from the PUMA treasure chest, the PUMA Basket ’68 OG Mid features the classic suede overlays, this time combined with contrasting details on the upper and a lighter midsole: the metallic Formstripe is the icing on the cake. For those looking for something a little different, PUMA’s Alteration has you covered: the modern neoprene upper is embellished with suede overlays, menthol green enhancements and a smart two-tone midsole.

The apparel receives just as much attention and creative genius, with unisex separates of track tops and pants, coats, hoodies, tees, and accessories. A simple colour palette of black, white, and grey has been utilised, with menthol green providing an eye-catching accent.

For this exclusive shoot, it was only appropriate to invite some homegrown creatives to be part of the session. Local artist Frenzy (@frenzolaa) hails from Hackney, bringing positivity and appreciation with his music. As the host of an annual workshop for local kids, he provides an opportunity to record music and get expert advice on the industry. Joining him is Tertia May (@tertiamay) who presents her outstanding talent in the form of soul music. Building on her reputation gained from a number of impressive performances, her vocal and writing skills display a level of talent rarely seen in a young performer. With both the collection and our models presenting such high levels of creative genius, the resulting images truly show the powerful artistic essence of the collaboration and all involved.
