Reebok Classic x Kendrick Lamar Classic Leather Lux – Release Info

The REEBOK CLASSIC x KENDRICK LAMAR Classic Leather Lux capsule is the partnership’s final release for the inspirational ‘Red and Blue’ collection.

The collaboration between Lamar and Reebok has a message behind it, but this highly anticipated drop also celebrates one of the brand’s most recognizable silhouettes, the Reebok Classic. The partnership presents the classic in a premium olive green leather, representing the old saying from Lamar’s hometown, Compton, that ‘mixing Red and Blue makes Green’, meaning that when opposing groups of people – specifically gang members – unite, they can inspire and encourage growth. The Red and Blue of course refers to the gangs that have historically been prevalent in Compton, thus the Classic Leather Lux capsule communicates Lamar’s neutrality and desire to bridge the divide.

As with the earlier Reebok-Lamar team-ups, there are ‘RED’ and ‘BLUE’ callouts embossed on the heels. Lamar himself said about the collab, “I want to create products that provide fans with larger meanings and messages – particularly ones that inspire unity and growth within communities and youth.” Other classic Reebok touches include a retro-style gum sole and Starcrest branding on the tongue.
