REEBOK X END INSTAPUMP FURY – CLARET – 15.3.14
The Pump Fury is twenty this year and Reebok are marking the occasions with a huge collection of collaborations involving this inflatable oddity (as well as reissuing the OG which you can see here). Newcastle-based retailer END kick things off with their take on the model: the REEBOK X END INSTAPUMP FURY ‘CLARET’.
END have drawn a parallel between fine wine and the Pump, being that both are evidence for things improving with age. To that end (sorry) they’ve applied numerous red tones to the suede and synthetic upper – with some pretty micro-perforations on the toebox – and added some nice gold-foil detailing on the branding, heel and toe loops and on the speckled midsole. The allusion is completed by the translucent-green outsole, which of course references the bottle, and a wine-stained cork insole with END and Reebok branding.
