From the Track to the Street: Saucony Originals Jazz O Vintage and DXN 83

Saucony Originals return this summer by reviving two iconic models, the Jazz O Vintage and DXN 83, for a two silhouette deep offering that celebrates the brand’s rich athletic history. 

First released back in 1983, the Dixon Trainer was inspired by New Zealand’s champion mid to long distance runner, Rod Dixon. Bagging himself a win at the New York Marathon in 1983, the runner was an instrumental figure the development of Saucony’s running shoes throughout the decade, and to honour his victory, they gave him his very own signature model. Returning this summer as one of the brand’s most iconic silhouettes, it remains largely unchanged from the original model – preserving an authentic mesh toe box, unlined tongue, bespoke sock liner, distressed uppers, a perfect off-white midsole, and a Saucony branding hit to the heel to round things off. Available in grey, yellow, green, and blue across both unisex and women’s sizes, you don’t want to miss this heritage explosion.

Then, turning back the hands of time even further, the second silhouette in the drop comes in the form of the brand’s 1981 model, the Jazz O Vintage. Designed by noted Boston podiatrist Dr Frank Santopietro, the model pairs classic mesh, neon, and suede uppers in a relatively unchanged design. Weathered for a retro effect, it completes the pack in a rainbow of unisex colourways, including aqua, pink, yellow, red, and grey.
