The Saucony x Afew Shadow Master 5000 Goethe Has a Way with Words

The SAUCONY X AFEW SHADOW MASTER 5000 GOETHE celebrates one of Düsseldorf’s prime literary treasures.

Düsseldorf retailer Afew pays homage to local literary legend Wolfgang Johann von Goethe in this delicate collaboration with Saucony. Utilising the brand’s Shadow Master 5000, Afew take cues from the architecture of the nearby Goethe Museum, with a soft pink and grey suede construction taking perfect shape over the streamlined retro running silhouette. The Shadow’s robust shock absorbing EVA midsole is complete in white, with a strikethrough indent and pink and grey traction outsole making further nods to the building’s stunning soft shades.

Not forgetting Goethe himself, the infamous poet’s vast body of work is given generous airtime across the design, taking to the heel with an embossed Afew logo, as well as the printed sock liner. Final finishing touches are then expertly added with excerpts of the German wordsmith’s poetry winding through the white shoelaces in a contrasting black cursive script.
