SAUCONY X END. CLOTHING SHADOW 5000 ‘BURGER’ – 3.5.14
After a few mouth-watering teasers, we finally get a better look at END. CLOTHING’s new culinary-themed take on the SAUCONY SHADOW 5000: THE BURGER.
END. are paying homage to the humble hamburger by applying its colour palette and textures to a Saucony runner that has perhaps been overlooked of late in deference to the Shadow 6000. Duly, they’ve started with some medium-rare red suede filling on the midsection, dribbled some special sauce over it in the form of the Saucony wave and added some fresh green garnish across the heel counter and on the sockliner. All this is then sandwiched (!) between some very premium golden-brown perforated nubuck and the white and gum sole unit. Extra toppings (we can’t help ourselves, sorry) come in the form of multiple laces in sauce sachets, dual-branded footbeds and a bespoke-designed woven tongue label. Special edition boxes and checkerboard tissue paper is the final presentation touch to a nicely worked project.
If ever we were going to call a shoe delicious, it’s this one. The SAUCONY X END.
