The new collab takes inspiration from the Russian Luna 3 space mission in 1959, which beamed back the first ever photographs of the dark side of the moon (the 41% of the lunar surface that never faces towards Earth). The pack comprises two of ASICS’ most iconic runners, the GEL-Lyte III and GEL-Lyte V, both of which boast tactile uppers inspired by the moon surface and Soviet space suits. The GEL-Lyte III comes in a two-tone colourway, with shades of black and grey offset by a crisp white midsole. The GEL-Lyte V comes in darker tones, with a tonal, textured olive upper sitting on a black sole. Both shoes feature Cyrillic letting on the tongue that spells out ‘Luna 3’ beneath the ASICS branding, tying together another strong release from the Japanese footwear dons.
