SNEAKERPEDIA CRATE OF THE YEAR 2013 COMPETITION

SNEAKERPEDIA is an online resource, or wiki as it’s also known, where you can upload images of your trainer collection into your personal crate, to show off to the masses. Since it’s global launch back in May 2011, the archive has amassed over 23,000 different shoes from nearly 14,000 members throughout 146 countries.

The launch back in ’11 was a trumpets aloft type affair, with some of the big hitters in the ‘game’ including DJ Clark Kent and London’s finest Kish getting involved, and who’s crates are uploaded for all to see over on the site, too. Sneakerpedia is a great idea and resource and they seem to be building with a solid team in place, that keep the site growing and the social media hungry massive up-to-date.

The introduction of the Crate Of The Month Competition last year was a welcome incentive for the time spent in shooting and uploading your collection to your crate, and to celebrate their second birthday, they’ve taken things next level with the Sneakerpedia Crate Of The Year Comp, with a pretty dope first prize, n’all.

The winner and a friend get an all-expenses weekend in New York City with two nights at the Ace Hotel. There, they’ll hook up with bonafide DJ, film-maker, and trainer enthusiast Bobbito Garcia who’ll give them a unique guided tour of NYC, one of the original homes of trainer culture and taking them around Harlem and other hand-picked locations. Then onto a screening of Bobbito’s ‘Doing it in the Park’ documentary. That, and $1000 thrown in to spend at the flagship Foot Locker House Of Hoops store.

It’s open to everyone and the closing date for entries is Friday 5th July 2013. The voting will be carried out by the Sneakerpedia community along with the SP team behind the scenes, so it’s fair to say that it’s going to get judged by a worthy panel.

If you’re not up for entering, then maybe just sign up and get voting, as there’s more than enough excellent trainers on show. Good luck to one and all! and click the pic below for full details on how to get involved.
