Last night saw the SNEAKERS CUBE AT NIKETOWN LONDON LAUNCH, introducing people to a new area within the store dedicated to all things trainer-related.

This new concept replaces what was the NIKE ID area on the second floor with what they hope will become something of a hub for London’s trainer community. There are still NIKE ID stations there, but there’s also a JASON MARKK cleaning area, and an accessories area with premium NIKE laces, lace locks and ROPES LACES. Arguably the most interesting part of the concept is the chill-out section with a library of relevant books and magazines. One reason why we feel this is perhaps the most interesting section of the new SNEAKERS CUBE is the focus isn’t just on selling products, which is a big move in our eyes.

Those who attended the event were treated to custom-engraved dubrais by Colin Mabey, who has previously engraved the F.A. Cup, the U.S. Open trophy, the Rugby World Cup and a number of things for the Royal Family which is very impressive.

We like to see that NIKE are trying to do something new and in doing so are showing some support from the UK’s own ROPES LACES. They are also promising more to come – what that is exactly, only time will tell, but we’re intrigued to see what else they have in mind.
