Grab The Mop: It’s the Supreme x Andres Serrano Vans Collection

2017-09-18T14:06:30

The SUPREME x ANDRES SERRANO VANS COLLECTION explores and challenges religion through the artist’s interpretation of traditional religious iconography with the incorporation of human bodily fluids.

Andres Serrano is an artist and photographer from in New York City. Born in 1950, he was raised as a strict Roman Catholic, which has inspired much of his artwork. Challenging religion through his unique interpretation of traditional religious iconography, he has utilised human bodily fluids such as blood, urine, semen and breast milk. Two of his most notable works are Piss Christ and the Blood and Semen series, the latter of which has been adopted for this new footwear collection. As you’d expect, Supreme have chosen three of the most-loved Vans models for this special collection: the OLD SKOOL, the SK8-HI and the CHUKKA. A controversial release perhaps, but we have no doubt that both the footwear and the apparel collection will prove popular when they both drop later this week.

The SUPREME x ANDRES SERRANO VANS COLLECTION drops in-store (New York, Los Angeles, London and Paris) and online on THURSDAY 21 SEPTEMBER, with Japan to follow a couple of days later on the 23rd. Click the banner below to see the latest releases at VANS in the meantime.
