Taschen embarks on the mammoth task of telling the uninterrupted story of the brand with three-stripes in full with THE ADIDAS ARCHIVE…
It’s been a whole century since brothers Adolf (“Adi”) and Rudolf Dassler made their first pair of shoes, and what better way to commemorate such a milestone event than with an interrupted look back over the brand with three-stripes long and eventful history. Taschen’s compendium looks back over the 100-year history by documenting over 350 pairs of shoes from the adidas archives, including never before seen and one of a kind prototypes photographed by Christian Habermeier and Sebastian Jäger. The book kicks off proceedings in style with a foreword from famed adidas designer Jacques Chassaing, followed by a rollercoaster ride into one of the world’s largest sporting brands extensive history, from its humble beginnings to today.
