Last week The Drop Date had the pleasure of attending the opening of SAUCONY’S new venture: an exhibition space and pop-up shop in the middle of Covent Garden entitled ‘THE SAUCONY STORY OF RUNNING’.
Having been founded in 1898, Saucony is one of the oldest athletic footwear companies still in existence so it was only right that the brand celebrate that heritage. There was a comprehensive history of the brand to swot up on along with plenty of ancient archive samples on display–we have our fingers crossed that some of those will be making a reappearance in the near future! For the time being though we made do with the deadstock that was rereleased to launch the pop-up shop: the entire Solebox Three Brothers Pack, the West NYC ‘Cabin Fever’ Shadow 5000 and the BAIT ‘Cruel World’ Shadow Original.
As always there were beers aplenty and good vibes, so thanks be to SAUCONY for putting on a great evening. Make sure to get yourself down to the space, which is open for the next four weeks and located at 68 Neal Street, Covent Garden, London. WC2H 9PA.
