The SF-AF1 Gets a Fresh Look with the Nike SF-AF1 Mid

The NIKE SF-AF1 MID marks the return of the Nike Special Field Air Force 1 – but this time in a practical mid-top style that should make many people happy.

As a new update of the Air Special Field Air Force 1, this all-terrain mid-top edition of the successful design will be just the ticket for those who found the original design a little too hefty. Designed by Nike Sportswear designer Ben Kirschner, the original SF-AF1 design was inspired by military work-wear, utilising durable and relevant materials such as ballistic nylon and tough leather details. Following the successful run of colourways on the original SF-AF1, this new model is set to hit the shelves in seven smart colours. Constructed in the same ballistic nylon and leather treatment, there’s new industrial-styled branding on the heel and buckled cross-straps at the ankle. New additions to the design include a double-zipper opening at the back of the ankle section for easy entry, as well as ‘Nike Air’ Swoosh branding within the upper canvas weave on the side, which replaces the original stitched-on Swoosh branding. We’ve heard that this model – or at least some of the colourways, such as the black edition – may be a Foot Locker exclusive… We’ll keep you posted.
