The Undercover x Nike SFB Jungle Dunk Drops Shortly

Hot on the heels of NikeLab’s 2016 GYAKUSOU Collection, which was unveiled in November, comes this new collaboration between Jun Takahashi and Nike: the UNDERCOVER x NIKE SFB JUNGLE DUNK.

Judging by the photographs, it appears as if the Japanese designer and head of the UNDERCOVER label has been given full creative reign over the collab, creating a high-top dunk that takes elements from a diverse selection of Nike silhouettes and, from them, fashions something completely new. Using the Dunk silhouette as the foundation, Takahashi has added Huarache-style TPU heel support wraps, which sport the UNDERCOVER ‘CHAOS’ and ‘BALANCE’ branding. On top of that, he has swapped the Dunk’s tooling for the SFB (Special Field Boots) Jungle’s chunky sole unit, completing the three-in-one hybrid. Other features include dynamic Flywire loops, UNDERCOVER branded heel tabs, and a jagged tooth-like motif on the upper’s lateral side. The Drop Date has seen two colourways for the new silhouette: a Black/Loyal Blue-White version, as well as a White/Black-Game Royal iteration.

This is the latest shoe collaboration between The Swoosh and Takahashi since 2015’s Court Force Hi Pack, which stylishly reimagined another basketball classic. The UNDERCOVER x NIKE SFB JUNGLE DUNK takes the reimagination to a whole new level, however, creating something undeniably fresh and unique.
