Vans kickstarted a skate shoe revolution when they launched in the mid-‘60s, with skaters across SoCal quickly noting sticky waffle-soled shoe’s expert grip. Early skate icons Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta designed the Era back in 1975, which was first known by the catalogue number #95. Its pioneering canvas construction was a playground for colourways and its padded collar, paired with the trademark Vans waffle sole, made it a real skate staple. A timeless option that still has just as much appeal now as it did then – the Era is still known for a playful mix of old and new patterns, from the traditional checkerboard to new experiments with tie-dye and quilting.
