The third and final instalment of Vans and size?’s exclusive footwear capsule celebrates the birth of new wave, which started to emerge as punks traditional rock and roll influences gave way to a softer, synth-led sound with elements of disco, pop and electro shining through. The Slip-On heads back to CBGB to commemorate a famous photoshoot, taking cues from the band’s “off the wall” outfits for the upper’s patchwork patterns. A floral print works its way across the vamp, with a vibrant star-like print across the mid-section. A plush pink paisley pattern at the ankle nods to the group’s daring outfits, whilst the midsole details the date of one of the US band’s breakthrough third studio album.
