The VANS SYNDICATE X DEFCON DIGITAL CAMO PACK is the latest collaboration between the Defcon Tactical Gear studio and the classic footwear brand’s high-end diffusion label.
Whilst this configuration seems like a safe option (after all, who dislikes camo?), it’s been executed exceptionally well: digital camouflage has been a popular option throughout the past 18 months, but this is the perfect rendition. Muted colours and premium materials help to make these stand out from the crowd, taking inspiration from the Naval Special Warfare’s AOR1 and AOR2 patterns. The camo was initially issued to Navel Special Warefare tier one unit (Devgru) and was first revealed to the mainstream public by the Bin Laden raid blockbuster, Zero Dark Thirty. Today it is fielded by all Seal Teams.
The SK8-HI NOTCHBACK “S” uses a deluxe tan Warrior Suede upper, teamed up with ripstop panels, and the OLD SKOOL “S” mixes a digi-woodland camouflage pattern with ballistic mesh panels and a moisture-proof Dri-Lex lining. Stick some of the classic Vans white soles and waffles tread underneath and you’ve got a fine looking set of shoes that rival the W)TAPS range for desirability. Check out the details in the images below for a taste of how well these have been designed.
The VANS SYNDICATE X DEFCON DIGITAL CAMO PACK drops this coming Friday 25.10.13 and can be found via the link-through below.
