Whilst the origins of DEFCON Tactical Gear remains as classified information, anything that brandishes their blocky tag is bound to spark a certain level of attention. Previously collaborating four years ago on two shoes for the brand’s now-discontinued Syndicate range, Vans revisit their partnership with shadowy and stealth collective DEFCON to resurrect the limited edition Vans Sk8-Hi Notchback Pro this spring.

Utilising DEFCON’s expertise in tactical outerwear originally developed for the US Army and law enforcement officers, the coveted Vans skate model is re-engineered across three designs that feature all-new Multicam® patterns – Arid™, Tropic™, and Black™.

Constructed from premium waterproof and flameproof wolverine pig suede uppers with camo accents, the military-inspired model features moisture wicking lining and customised Vans Ultracush HD footbeds for the ultimate in comfort. Further branded touches are added with a DEFCON lightening bolt to the tongue and midsole, with the embroidered “Hesh Goat” taking to the heel. The drop’s choice of Arid™, Tropic™, and Black™ Multicam® patterns are also available on a logo t-shirt if you’re feeling super keen to coordinate.

Specifically designed to reduce the visual and near-Infrared signature of a person in three distinct environments, there’s every chance you won’t use these shoes are they are actually intended, but they don’t half look good…
