YOHJI YAMAMOTO unveils brand new styles from the ADIDAS Y-3 SS18 FOOTWEAR COLLECTION

The ADIDAS Y-3 SS18 FOOTWEAR COLLECTION was unveiled in Paris this weekend, and it’s got us counting down the days till next summer…

YOHJI YAMAMOTO and ADIDAS have been pioneering the fusion of sportswear and fashion since 2003. And judging by yesterday’s 15th Anniversary collection preview in Paris, it doesn’t look like they’ll be slowing down any time soon. With a renewed focus on footwear, the upcoming collection includes a wide range of innovative silhouettes that combine adidas’ heritage with Yamamoto’s vision. The stark colour scheme – white, black and vivid red – allows the designs to shine in all their technical glory while saluting Y-3’s roots in what Yamamoto calls “the Uniform of the Street”.

Standout styles include the SAIKOU, a minimal Y-3 classic with Boost cushioning, Primeknit upper and suede toe cap. Another Boost style, the KUSARI, features a futuristic side lacing system for extra stability. The BASHYO is a mid-top model with an unusual mix of rubber, leather and stretch canvas, while the SUBEROU is a summery slip-on with new Y-3 runner tooling and multiple printed logos at the tongue. This bold branding runs through the whole collection, uniting a strong new offering that will have Y-3 fans fiending for the launch like a kid for chocolate.
