First released in 2006, the Samurai-inspired Gel-Kinsei was one of the most technical running shoes on the market. Designed by Hisanora Fujita, the Biomorphic Fit upper treads a very close step to that of the Gel-Kayano, but it’s the distinct bonded heel unit with three GEL chambers that really sets this shoe apart from the rest. The heel’s design was formed around the concept of a Samurai’s armour, which protects the body whilst still allowing ease of movement.
