1916

In Helsinki, Finland, Karhu was founded as a ski and equipment firm.

1960

Owing to its proficiency in sports equipment, Karhu broadens its assortment of products to encompass running shoes.

1970

Karhu employed a variety of innovative synthetic materials and cutting-edge technologies in their running shoes, including nylon and air cushioning—another little-known first in the history of footwear.

1982

Karhu presents the Albatross model, a flexible and lightweight running shoe.

1996
